Install it, learn what each shortcut does, and change any of it. Every setting lives beside the feature it belongs to, so this is organized the same way.

Written for Wira Desk 0.3.0

Wira Desk is one tray daemon that does four jobs: it cycles the windows of the app you are already in, shows them as live thumbnails when you hold the shortcut, snaps and arranges windows from the keyboard, and turns your mouse’s thumb buttons and tilt wheel into desktop navigation. One process, one config file, no account.

All of these are remappable, and each can be switched off on its own. Turning one off drops its chord from the keyboard hook entirely, so the combination reaches whatever app is focused unchanged, exactly as if Wira Desk were not installed.

Windows reserves Win+1…9, Win+E, Win+D and Win+Ctrl+←/→. Wira Desk ships on the Ctrl+Alt family, which Windows leaves alone. It is a good family for your own bindings too.

And on the mouse

Read straight off the standard Win32 input stream, so any mouse with these buttons works: no vendor driver, no configuration app. Out of the box all four run Windows’ own actions, the ones your thumb already expects.

Thumb button 2 (Forward)Next virtual desktop

Any of Wira Desk’s own actions can take their place: twenty choices in all, including passthrough, which hands the button back to Windows untouched.
